The ROT deduction in 2026: what applies

How much you can deduct, which work qualifies and how the deduction lands straight on your invoice.

The ROT deduction lets you deduct part of the labour cost when you renovate, rebuild or extend your home. It applies to labour only — never to materials, travel or machine hire.

How the deduction is calculated

You may deduct 30 per cent of the labour cost, up to an annual ceiling per person. If you own the home jointly, the ceiling counts per owner.

We apply the deduction directly on the invoice. You pay the net amount and we claim the rest from the Swedish Tax Agency.

Which work qualifies

Kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, roofing, façades, drainage and electrical work normally qualify. Building a new house does not, nor does work in a home less than five years old.

If you are unsure about your specific job, we settle it at the site visit before the quote is written.

What matters is having room left in your allowance for the year. If you have already used it with another contractor, that reduces what you can deduct with us.
